Reunion Time: Edwin Datoc

Edwin and I met in NYC in the Union Square Barnes&Noble. I was looking at magazines and he was .. doing, well, I don't know what! haha. Anyway, I was putting back the stack of fashion magazines I had. He walked up to me very politely and asked if I was a model. I told him that I had just started modeling a few weeks ago. He proceeded to pull out a stack of comp cards from different agencies and state, "I don't like any of these girls, but you're look is great." I was a little taken aback at first but he showed me his work which I loved. We ended up shooting a series of photos in different NYC hotels. It was my first real experience getting to shoot film. Black and whites, in my opinion, are at their best on film. In fact, Edwin sparked my love of photography, a love of photography based in film. Not only did we shoot some timeless photos, but we became friends. Many memories I have of living in NYC are with Edwin. Who knew that we would reunite in Sydney! So here we are, spending a Saturday together in Australia.

Lunch in Bondi. mmm Pad Thai, my fave

First trip to Newtown woohoo

Edwin gave up his cushy accountant lifestyle to attend photography school, here!

Sweet! Let's go see what's inside.

Russian artist Gregory Maiofis: my favorite bit of this exhibition on Russian photography. All using a very old technique, Bromoil prints. Also, these animals are real !!
