Canterbury is a really beautiful part of New Zealand, specially at this time of the year when the leaves are starting to turn gold and the air is crisp, the last 2 days of weather was pretty amazing and I really enjoyed spending my weekend in Christchurch City.
I think like any (not so nice) news that you do not experience personally, can a lot of the time be easy to forget about. As sad as that sounds its the truth and for the people living through the Christchurch Earthquake after seeing with my own eyes how its affecting the city I feel for you. In saying that though the locals are continuing with there life's the best they can and are in very high spirits which is extremely humbling and inspiring.
The Telethon to raise money for Christchurch was held this weekend and I read in the paper that they raised over 2 million dollars to help rebuild the city.
I flew down to be a part of the Fashion for relief show that was held on Sunday in Christchurch's CBS Stadium. It was a fun day.
New Zealands Next top Model Winner Danielle Hayes, and NZ's top Model Penny Pickard were there to support the cause also. With all this hype going on with the "planking" phenomenon, which in the beginning I thought was an extremely bizarre and rather stupid thing to occupy your time with, we thought in our spare time we might do some "ode to Christchurch city" planking!!!! I must say as silly as it is it was rather fun. Our hearts go out to everyone effected by the earthquakes.
